FLASH FLOOD WARNING MAY 31 until 10 pm

The warning has been downgraded to a watch that is in effect until 11:00 am tomorrow. There is an overlapping flash flood advisory in effect all day tomorrow. See NWS site for details.

For what it is worth, Maplewood and SO are in Western Essex County. I have noticed today again that some alert systems and comercial sites broadcast the NYC warning and also the one for Eastern Essex when there was no warning in effect here. This is why I always recommend the NWS site, since that is where all the watches and warning originate.

Rainfall in eastern Maplewood is well over an inch so far. Exact meaurements tomorrow morning.

Max, I always promised myself not to be one of " those" posters who ask for longish term weather advice but LilMissLL is doing a photoshoot on Thursday and she BEGGED me to ask you if the weather will be okay. Accuweather says sunny, weather.com says showers. What's your take?

I'm sure Max will see your question, but I just checked NOAA in the meantime and they say cloudy with a high of 74 degrees for Thursday, but are not indicating any rain.

Cody's right, at this time there is no reason to expect rain on Thursday, although it is likely to remain overcast. Rain re-enters the forecast Thursday evening.

The poor SOMS 8th grade has their class trip -- with outdoor pools -- to Warren tomorrow. Sounds like it will be a bust

Forecast I heard was for rain during the morning commute but then clearing by the afternoon. Depending on how quickly the rain clears, it may not be a total bust.
