fios down?

anyone else having issues?

my mom couldn’t access MOL - is it just here or other Sites/tv etc?

Maybe there’s an issue in that part of town.

We're good here, Richmond and Elmwood.

thanks

looks like it's me- vz tech coming tomorrow- something with the box in the basement- reset didn't do it.

ugh

You either need a new battery or a new box or both. Tech should be able to identify and resolve quickly.

Probably the box. Battery in ours has been dead for at least two years, but our internet connection is fine. Battery is only to keep the phone going for a few hours during a power outage.

Not in my experience.  When my battery went it took down TV and internet as well as phone.

Interesting. There must be different box/battery units. Ours will work with the battery completely removed from the unit (although that causes the "replace battery" alarm to beep every 20-30 minutes).

so tech came and said could have been fixed remotely

all is well

2 hours wife calls and says its out again

call vz back-they say will be there by 8pm-then 9pm-then 8:30am the next day

8:15am tech shows up-replaces outside box-still no signal!

turns out he closed the box yesterday with the fiber cable inside it-fiber broke!

need a new tech to splice fiber cable

get spliced and back in business

hopefully for a good while.  I have to say this was the first major downtime in 6+ years with fios in my office.

oots

That's pitiful work by the technician, but I agree that FIOS is much reliabler than other services. Fiber really makes a difference. It is more idiot-technician-proof than coaxial cable.

We lost service and had to wait several days for a tech to come. Turned out that water had gotten into outside line wiring, frozen, and broken the connection. Tech said it was likely caused by a neighboring new installation that knocked against the existing wiring. Was not happy about having to wait several days, but was pleased at tech guys's ability to promptly diagnose and remedy the problem. It helped to have gotten a tech guy who had many years of experience; not all of them do.

We got an email this morning our Fios is down. Expected recovery is 3 am tomorrow.

We're off North Ridgewood near Forest Ave. Is anyone else experiencing a problem?

No on Valley/Millburn

Village Coffee which uses Fios has computers and smarty devices saving the world at record speed now.

It appears to be back up and running.

last time it happened to me, turns out a wire had slipped out ..put it back in and was back up

No it was a neighborhood outage.
