Favorite Maplewoodstock Moment?

It was a wonderful weekend. Let's thank the organizers by sharing our favorite moments.

One of mine was rocking out with Jane Lee Hooker and watching a small child totally mesmerized by the band. He was bopping to the music and eventually ran up to the stage. You can't be too young to enjoy great music.

5,000 people jumping up and down to the Wailers. It was like the Maplewoodstock committee pulled off a little miracle.

The scene of everyone dancing to the Wailers was magical. It was a "pinch me" moment. I don't know if anything else has ever come close or if anything else will.

Amazing weekend, as usual. Thanks, guys.

Like most of the above posters, I think the Wailers provided the most magical moment. Looking across the crowd, seeing lots of families dancing together, it was a unifying experience.

The best act of the weekend was Alejandro Escovedo.

Period.

I wish that he had closed the show.

The only act I've seen at MWS that I enjoyed more was Raul Malo ...

Noon Saturday to 10PM Sunday.

The headliners were all great, Wailers, Alejandro, and Rusted Root. But in the daytime the family and I loved Kwame Binea Shakedown on Saturday, and on Sunday I really enjoyed Oxygen Box, and the DeLorean Sisters.

I feel the same as soul_29 -almost

for me-rusted root was the best headliner since raul malo (still#1)

I did enjoy alejandro.

brother valiant-an amazing band of young local talent-were great and probably missed by most people.

I didn't get there during the days, but went by myself to catch the Wailers sat night. It was perfect. Almost had tears in my eyes that I was lucky enough to be a part of this town and event. Everyone together, singing and dancing. Being by myself, I was able to go down to wards the front and really experience the music.

Also thought there needs to be more Rastas in this world... What a great vibe

Brother Valiant was AWESOME. But even if some late comers missed them, at least they made sure their chairs and blankets didn't. (This was taken while BV was playing.)

I thought this was a sweet moment.

Alejandro's set, and All The Young Dudes encore in particular. He's one of my favorite musicians and I still can't believe he was at lil' ole Maplewoodstock. Thank you thank you thank you to the organizers, the whole weekend is fantastic every year!

I'm so sad that I missed it (out of town for a long weekend.) But, I still had a favorite moment ... when a mutual friend posted a picture of my daughter hula hooping there last night!

sac - Your daughter is tremendously talented! We loved watching her art!

Agree, although "Castanets" live was the "in particular" one for me.

I love that the trusty Giant Brown Poodle is (near red/white umbrella on right) guarding the chairs, blankets and cooler. That stuff was set up at 7am and the folks were there from 11:30am till close of the festival both days. #nofestivalrookies

Thx! We are quite proud (and amazed as well)!

sac - that was your daughter!!!! I had a friend from Queens visiting and he kept repeatedly telling me to watch the woman with the hula hoops. He would tell me it was amazing and then I would look and nothing would be happening and I would get distracted by something else. But I know if was awesome!

The young woman with the hula hoops was amazing. In the evening she was working with glowing hoops and the effect was hypnotic.

Were they were running a workshop on the side of the stage?

@sac- let us know if she will be back for 2016.

You should see her "fire hooping"! (not in a crowded place like that, though.)

She tells me that she will be back next year and by that time she should also be teaching and doing performances and such. (She is currently a full-time college student but expects to graduate by then.)

Sac, I had no idea it was your daughter! I thought she was a circus performer! Where is she learning to do that? She was amazing.

I missed the hackey-sack artists.

Her learning has been a mix of self-teaching, watching YouTube videos and attending various hooping conferences and workshops ... and LOTS of practicing!

If I may be self-serving for a moment, this photo of Big Radio performing on Sunday is what it's all about for the musicians. The moments when you lock in with your bandmates and it feels joyful -- that's why we do it. And that's why we go out to hear all of the performers over the weekend. Thanks to sbenois for capturing all this.
