Early morning speeding

So recently I've been walking to the gym in South Orange very early some weekday mornings, like 5-530 am.

One thing I've been struck by (fortunately not literally) is how fast some drivers go at that time! Mostly on Valley (at least before the roadwork), but also on Academy and Prospect. It's not every car, but I'd say 1/4 to 1/3 of cars significantly speed. And I'm not talking 35 mph here, I'm talking 45-50.

I'm sure cops are on duty somewhere at that time but I never see any. Missing out on a great revenue opportunity!

I live on Academy and I can attest to how fast cars drive on that street (eta: at all times, but I leave the house before 6am so I see them then, too). When I moved there, parking was permitted on both sides of the street and therefore, it was virtually impossible to speed. The Village put an end to that!

I agree with the above observations. I walk Prospect at 5:30am and I also see many cars blow through stop signs on side roads too!

5:30am runner here and it astounds me how fast cars travel on Parker...
