Yeah it matters. I don't like when NJ is unnecessarily idiosyncratic. Bothers me.
Sloppy Joe is fine. MVC not fine.
If it’s important to you to live in a state with an MVC-equivalent agency that can be abbreviated DMV, it looks like you have your choice of 20.
In other words, the answer to your question isn’t just no. It’s a majority no.
but since DMV is by far the most popular abbreviation, my point still stands, and applies to those other non-compliant states too.
DMV is the vanguard.
