COVID testing at Livingston

There does not seem to be a way to make an appointment for the testing at the sears site. Anyone just show up for a test recently?   coming back from a vacation and want to get tested- no symptoms- just a precaution before Xmas.  If so, how long are the wait times? and how long for results?
thanks

Tested yesterday.  Didn't take long at all -- less than 1/2 hour.  Results are back in 24 to 48 hours.  It's the saliva test.

Just go.   You'll be fine.

I went at 9am on Friday. Walked in, they gave me a printed out page with instructions that I was told to follow on my phone outside. Then they brought a test outside and helped me scan the bar code with my phone. I was then told to go to my car to do the spitting part in the car. Then returned the vial to a nurse standing outside at the entrance. I got an email confirmation the the lab received my sample but I’m still waiting for the results.

Yes, they are still very organized over there. I went yesterday as a precautionary measure and there was no line, even on a Saturday afternoon. Though, in the past testing there, I'd have already had results back. Only got the email saying the lab had received my sample a little while ago.

Which side of Sears has the testing?  Eisenhower Pkwy/front of mall, or in the back?  Thanks!

Testing is walk-in.  I went Friday and was in and out in about 15 minutes.  They say results can take 24 - 48 hours and ours were back right at 24 hours on Saturday morning.  It's a saliva PCR test.

However, I believe that appointments are now required for vaccines.

We got that email in the evening and had results by email the next morning, but that may not happen on Sundays. They say 24-48 hours.

Got my results this afternoon, with about a 24-hour turnaround. My son was tested on Thursday in NYC and is still waiting for results.

Essex County is really doing an amazing job. I’m so thankful.

thanks for all of your responses- we will be going tomorrow

Everyone who has received two shots should get  a booster. This guy did.

https://www.politico.com/news/2021/12/20/trump-received-vaccine-booster-shot-525748

The folks who would still support him if he " shot someone in the middle of Fifth Avenue" have a different view on him getting a shot. From the above:

The crowd began to boo Trump after he said he had gotten his booster shot, though the former president discouraged the jeers.

just back from submitting our tests. a few things-it is not on the eisnehower pkwy side-that is now only for testing.  so we drove to the other side.  it was busy and a bit chaotic.  it seems that they were testing inside-but they gave us the kit to do in the car-maybe because we did not have symptons.

the spit test was difficult to get going on line.  I had an account set up with VAULT from a previous test.  had to reset password-then all it would let me do was request a test kit to be sent to me.  maybe if I just continued it would get me to starting with the test kit in my hands.  but i chose after several tries to set up a new account with a new email.

so we will see how long for results-as things are busy.

Took test yesterday at Sears/LM at 10am, results back 13.5 hours later/the same day.  Wow!

thats quick!  did you get tested inside?  or have the test to take to your car?

In the past they were sending only symptomatic people to their cars to test. I guess that changed?

I can’t really say if there was any rhyme or reason for whom they sent outside with the test kits.

When we went this afternoon, we took the test inside the Bldg.

If you indicate at the door that you have any symptoms, you are asked to go to your car.

they did ask us- we said no symptoms-then sent outside with the kits.  I think they sent people outside if inside was full at the time.

was fast an easy today at 9.

Anyone know what the holiday schedule for Livingston is? I got tested this morning, but may need another on Friday. Will they be open?

Hubby and daughter got tested at Livingston yesterday afternoon. Hubby got a negative result this morning, daughter got an email saying her results would be 24-48 hours. Weird.

Daughter got the negative, wahoo! We were worried as her college campus was overcome with cases during finals and she had some minor cold symptoms.

I have to say Livingston was great for our original shots, boosters and this testing. I do wish they had a rapid test option as we weren’t able to find one anywhere (home or facility) but everything was managed smoothly.

Is it a quick process? y wife has an appointment at the medical offices across the way at noon. Would we be able to go before then? It is 10:30 now.

the process to test is quick-the results may take 24 - 48 hours.  the medical office may be able to get the result quicker.  I assume a PCR test?

Oh, the medical office thing is for something unrelated. We have just gotten notice that we were in the presence of someone who is COVID positive so we wanna get tested. We're doing things with our church this weekend.

So far Livingston is the best place to get tested. I was in Belleville this morning and the line of cars are about 1/4 mile down Franklin avenue. I hear in Newark it’s even worse than last year.

We just home from testing at Livingston. Nice flow of people in and back out to the parking lot. They make you do the mailed sample on a video call with a doc to make sure you do it properly and that it's you - but they let you go back to your car and do the sample without supervision. I know the logistics would make it as bad as the early days of vaccination but it made us wonder.

Man, that little tube is hard to fill up with saliva. Especially with your wife right next to you in the car making jokes about how long it's taking you when she's been done for a while. And that I need to be healthier and drink more water. And like 4 other things I can't remember...
