Birding for a beginner?

Can anyone recommend a birding class nearby?  Thanks!

I can recommend a phone or computer ap. Its called:

Merlin

it is an ap from Cornell University and is terrific for identifying birds and bird calls.I downloaded it from the Google Play Store and think Apple also has it. Good luck.

Audubon site inBasking Ridge has free bird walksOn Friday mornings. Check website if they are still running during C-19.

There is also a free Tuesday morning group that I know is running.  P.M. me if interested in that.

Never knew that. How early do they start?

It used to be 8:30.  Friday free walks are not listed in the Sherman Hoffman Wildlife Sanctuary. Because of C-19, they are not offering much in the way of events.

They do list a September Saturday morning. 8:00 to 9:00. This one is free to members and $5.00 to non-members.

Have done a lot of walking at the Great Swamp National Wildlife Refuge since the onset of the pandemic.  It is a bird sanctuary.  At least in normal time, it looks like they have educational programs.
