I think this has been a previous topic of discussion on MOL, but the Park Wood Diner (on Springfield Avenue in Maplewood) has received good reviews for its salads.
I love Parkwood Salads, especially John's salad, Pete's Creation, and the Tommy salad. And I love the Tony salad at Reservoir. And the tomato and mozzarella salad at Village Trattoria is also pretty good.
Now I want a salad.
Correction, I meant the arugula, tomato, and mozzarella salad at Village Trat. I haven't had the tomato and mozzarella salad, thoguh I'm sure that one is good too.
I really enjoy the stonys salad (with chicken) at Stony's in S. Orange.
The pre-made salads at Trader Joes are good and as quick as you can get. Also, that salad place in Milburn next to Starbucks. But if you really want to stay close I had a terrific arugula salad with avacado and chicken at Coda last week.
Parkwood salads are delicious - to the above list I'll add the Greek salad (with gyro chicken) and the Autumn salad. Trattoria also makes a great house salad.
Oh, I forgot about Coda. I can only get a cobb salad from there because no one else will ever live up to the super high expectations I now have because of them.
Not sure if they do take out but I have enjoyed the Butternut salad at Martinis in Millburn.

I'm craving a take-out salad for dinner. Whaere's the best place in Maplewood South Orange?? Any recommendations?
