Best Credit Monitoring Service

We watched a program about how personal information is used.  Apparently when information is stolen (especially personal data i.e. SS#) it is set aside for a year or several, before it is actually used. So credit monitoring for the first year is nice, but not really helpful.

So, we're now looking to sign-up for a service that monitors our credit.  I'm looking for one that provides easy to read and relevant notifications and reports.

Anyone use a service they really like?  Or one they really don't like?  Your recommendations and feedback would be appreciated.  Thanks!

I’ve used LifeLock the last few years but there hasn’t been much activity to judge it by so far.

Got it because of the insurance aspect - wanted more help than just passive monitoring
