Apollo 13 co-author, TIME Science Editor to Speak at Local Observatory

From nj.com, an announcement for an exciting talk presented by my astronomy group:

Jeffrey Kluger will appear at William Sperry Observatory of Union County College in Cranford on Friday, March 17, 2017, at 8pm, courtesy of AAI (Amateur Astronomers Inc.). Mr. Kluger will address his new book APOLLO 8: The Thrilling Story of the First Mission to the Moon, which is due out May 8.

With astronaut Jim Lovell, Mr. Kluger wrote LOST MOON: The Perilous Journey of Apollo 13, on which the movie APOLLO 13 was based. He is also senior science writer and editor-at-large for TIME, having written over 30 cover stories. Mr. Kluger appears as part of the monthly speaker series of AAI (Amateur Astronomers Inc.) a local 200-member group that performs research and public outreach activities at Sperry Observatory.

The free lecture will be held at the Roy Smith Theater in the college. There will be a reception afterwards at the observatory with refreshments and the chance to use two of the largest telescopes available for public use in the northeast.

Do come! You can always do St. Patrick's Day on Saturday ha ha...
