Amazon music has podcasts and music in one app, but you can’t make a combined playlist. It’s free for 4 months at the moment.

But I don't want to just go over to Apple Music for this reason - I like to have mixed playlists that include both podcasts & music. Basically when a podcast finishes up I like to have a song or two as a "palate cleanser" before going on to the next podcast. I often want to mull over what I just heard, and my attention wanders when the next one comes on.
Many years ago Apple Music allowed combined playlists, then they separated out into two apps and it was no longer an option. Since I mostly listen in the car I want this to be seamless, i.e. no need to switch out apps. I've tried this - and even using Siri on my iphone it doesn't reliably work and causes more distraction than I feel comfortable with.
My google skills are defeating me on this one - the search results are not helpful at all. Anybody else like mixed playlists and know of an alternative to spotify? TIA!
