Murphy's tenure has been a disappointment on many issues.
Anything looks better than Trump and his party. But don't expect real reform from a Democratic leadership. Its still a big money corporate party that presented us a Wall St plutocorat as governor.

On several occasions, I have voiced my disappointment in Murphy and people usually respond with "he's better than Christie." The bar was so low with Christie that my pet dog could do a better job.

We need to demand better. I think we have to start by pushing at the county level, challenging long seated Democrats and their power blocks. We need to find someone to run against Joe D. In the primary.
I saw Donald Payne Jr.on a TV "talk show" a while back. Does anyone have anything positive to tell me about him? He strikes me as the invisible man, and I don't understand why he keeps getting re-elected, or what he actually does in Washington.
I assume you weren't referring to the "Invisible Man" by Ralph Ellison:

He got elected based on his father's legacy. As far as I can tell, he hasn't accomplished much in D.C.
I got a mailer from him recently for the primary and his list of accomplishments was a summary of what every Democrat is doing now.
I got a mailer from him after I had already mailed in my ballot, but I also got a Vote Line A mailed from the Dems after I had already mailed in the ballot. He was on the Township Committee zoom call a couple of months ago. I was not impressed. He just kept telling people to call his office in the morning and they'll take care of the question. A couple of the questions seemed like ones he should have had an answer available right away.

Good luck with that. Murphy had the support of Booker, Menendez, Biden, and Obama BEFORE he was the nominee. I'm sure there were others. I expect this was 'thanks' given for contributions Murphy made to each of their campaigns.
One good thing I will say about Murphy: he and his wife are primary owners of Harrison's Sky Blue, the local NWSL professional women's soccer team.

Interesting thought about Murphy. I think he's doing a good job on the virus.
Then...
I thought about Chris Christie. I think he was a crappy governor. But imagine the
"Get the hell off the beach" guy dealing with the virus.
"Stay the hell in your houses until I tell you its safe." N.J. would have had the lowest infection rate in the nation.

There is a Donald Payne III. I suspect “Congressman Payne” will be with us for decades to come, barring the advent of some sort of local Cori Bush.
