Ulysses Grant Dietz, Senior Curator and Curator of Decorative Arts at the Newark Museum, and Maplewood resident, is the guest speaker at the Friends of the Maplewood Library Annual Meeting on Monday, April 29, 2013, at 7:30 p.m. in Memorial Hall, Maplewood Memorial Library, 51 Baker Street. Mr. Dietz has been associated with the Newark Museum for more than 30 years, is the author of many books on the decorative arts, and has lectured widely on the subject. He will provide a behind-the-scenes look at the museum and its extensive collection. In addition to his expertise in the art world, Mr. Dietz is a leading authority on his great, great grandfather, President Ulysses S. Grant. He has also written two vampire novels. Please join Friends as we learn more about a local treasure, the Newark Museum. A short business meeting will begin the evening. This event is open to the public and refreshments will be served.
