Free group tours by appt. Every first Sunday in June, the Pierro Gallery and 1978 Maplewood Arts Center present the Studio Tour, a celebration of South Orange and Maplewood artists. Each year, hundreds of visitors flock to the local studios, galleries and group exhibitions to experience this vibrant local tradition. In this year’s curated show at the Pierro Gallery, Things We Keep, six studio tour artists explore the many ways humans feel the need to retain and maintain; materially, spiritually, environmentally, and though memory. The featured artists from the SOMA Studio Tour include Sybil Archibald, Alaine Becker, Susan Napack, Ellen Weisbord, Florence Weisz, and Tricia Zimic. Guest Curator Julia Thomson is a recent graduate from Pratt Institute.
