Six Weeks to Story

Event Date: March 5th, 2015 at 7:00pm - 9:30pm
Address : 7 Midland Blvd
Town : Maplewood
Information:

Using the techniques employed in the Writing in the Raw workshops, group members write together and read their work aloud. However, the goal of Six Weeks to Story is the completion of a short story of at least 1,000 words by the end of the six weeks – a story that begins with a writing prompt and is nurtured and completed entirely within the workshop itself. Workshop Leader: Joseph Cummins is the author of a novel, The Snow Train, which The London Times has called “a wonderful and sustained piece of intelligent and emotive writing.” He has published short fiction in The Michigan Quarterly, The Carolina Quarterly, Sleet Magazine, The View From Here, and The Blue Lake Review. He is also the author of numerous works of nonfiction. He lives in Maplewood and is an adjunct professor of English literature at Hudson County Community College. The fee for Six Weeks to Story is $180.00. Location: 7 Midland Blvd. Maplewood, NJ. Time: 7:15 p.m. - 9:15 p.m. Doors open at 7:00 p.m.(To register, contact Jill Quist at 973-202-1449 or e-mail jill@TheMindfulMuse.co, or go to the shopping cart on our website at www.TheMindfulMuse.co.)
