Address : 1 SOPAC Way

Information:

The world lost a visionary artist when David Bowie succumbed to cancer on January 10th. He will be remembered not only for his ground-breaking music and his androgynous, ostentatious personas, which arguably gave a generation of wary LGBT onlookers \"permission\" to be different, but also the depth and soul he brought to the mesmerizing characters he played in film. In tribute, North Jersey Pride will host a special screening of Bowie’s 1983 fantasy thriller and longtime queer cult favorite, THE HUNGER, at the Bow-Tie South Orange Cinema. Bowie plays John Blaylock, husband and lover of the gorgeous immortal vampire Miriam (Catherine Deneuve). John believes that he, too, will live forever, but instead, he quickly deteriorates into a living death as Miriam seeks a new companion. John seeks the help of Dr. Sarah Roberts (Susan Sarandon), a scientist who studies the blood’s role in premature aging, but Sarah quickly falls under Miriam’s spell in one of the most memorable scenes of lesbian seduction to date. Rated R. Tickets: $10 advance/$15 door, and group discounts available for advance purchasers.
