RAISE THE ROOF Documentary

RAISE THE ROOF is an award-winning documentary that captures the re-building of an 18th century Polish wooden synagogue that rivals the greatest wooden architecture in history. RAISE THE ROOF documents the various steps of the reconstruction of the magnificent wooden Gwoździec synagogue after it had been burned to the ground by the Nazis. An international crew of 300 students and professionals from 16 countries participated in a history-making effort to replicate the synagogue. The program will will begin at 6:30 pm, with an opportunity to view the Visual Art Center of New Jersey’s winter exhibitions. The screening will begin at 7pm. Admission including wine and refreshments is $15 in advance, $20 at the door, $12 for members.
