Saturday, October 7, at 9:00 a.m. volunteers will unload a tractor-trailer load of pumpkins onto the front lawn, transforming it almost magically into Millburn’s very own suburban pumpkin patch. Drop by, rain or shine, to pick out your Halloween pumpkins and gourds. The Pumpkin Patch will be open daily through Halloween, 2:00- 6:00 p.m., Saturdays 10:00-6:00 p.m, and Sundays 11:00-6:00 p.m. 100% of the proceeds from the Patch are distributed to local and regional charities as well as a percentage returned to the Navajo Reservation in New Mexico where the pumpkins are grown. Some of the local missions that benefit are The Interfaith Hospitality Network, The House of Mercy Mission, and The Elizabeth Coalition to House the Homeless. In addition, this year in the wake of devastating storms, a portion will go to Presbyterian Disaster Assistance, a boots-on-the-ground organization that cares for communities adversely affected by crises and catastrophic events.
