Crescent Concerts opens 2016 with its annual showcase of exceptionally talented young musicians from New Jersey on Sunday, February 21 at 3:00 pm. The five young artists selected this year will perform great works of classical music in the splendor of the neo-Gothic Crescent Avenue Presbyterian Church in Plainfield. Eric Wang, age 14, is a ninth grader at Milburn High School, who plays the piano as well as French horn and cello. He was awarded Musician of the Year upon his graduation from Millburn Middle School, and has received numerous awards, including first place and second place piano solos in his age group the last two years at the MEA-NJ Annual Young Pianist Piano Competition. He will be performing pieces by Beethoven, Brahms, and Ginastera. Also featured will be pianist Christine Chang and pianist Jasmine Cheng of East Brunswick, vocalist Kimmy Norrell of Haworth, and pianist Brendan Tang of Edison.
