The Maplewood Concert Band will present its annual Spring Concert on Thursday, April 11 at 7:30pm at The Woodland, 60 Woodland Road in Maplewood. Admission is free and donations are accepted.
The concert will be opened by a performance by Unaccompanied Minors, from Columbia High School in Maplewood.
The Maplewood Concert band will continue with a program of “Reel Melodies – Songs from TV and Film.” Selections being performed at this concert include Beauty and the Beast, from the 1991 animated film, featuring music by Alan Menken and Howard Ashman. The concert includes music from The Incredibles, featuring music by Michael Giacchino and more.
The band rehearses twice a month on Wednesday evenings from 7:30-9:30pm at the DeHart Community Center at 120 Burnett Avenue in Maplewood and performs throughout the year. Area musicians may inquire about joining the band by contacting the band by email at maplewoodcommunitymusic@gmail.com.
