MAPLEWOOD GLEE CLUB GOES HOLLYWOOD FOR THE HOLIDAYS
Lights! Camera! Holiday! That’s the title of the Maplewood Glee Club’s upcoming December concert – a holiday collection of favorite songs from movies and TV.
“We love this theme because we get to do everything from White Christmas, Charlie Brown, and the Grinch to personal favorites from Love Actually and Toy Story,” says club president Kevin Weist. “There’s even a song about holiday sweaters … The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly.”
Sharing the stage with the Glee Club will be special guests, the Westfield High School Chorale, a 20-person ensemble that has sung at Carnegie Hall, on TV, and next spring will sing in Faure’s Requiem at Alice Tully Hall. Also performing will be smaller combos The Doo Wop Preservation Society and The Unusual Suspects.
The family-friendly concert, which includes an audience sing-along, will take place at 4pm on Sunday, December 15th at St. Joseph’s Church, 767 Prospect St. in Maplewood.
