Kol Rina, an independent minyan now in its third year, will be hosting an Open Mic Night and Silent Auction of Goods & Services on Saturday, March 29, at 8:15 p.m. The event will be held at Kol Rina’s home on the 2nd level of 60 Valley Street in South Orange. A suggested donation of $10.00 per person will be collected at the door. Local attorney and stand-up comedian Steven Sklar will serve as emcee for the event, which will feature – just to name a few -- the inimitable Cantor Perry Fine singing show tunes, Rabbi Len Levin on piano, Rich & Treasure Cohen on guitar, The Silvertones flute ensemble, and singer/guitarist Sandy Resnick. The auction will also offer many tantalizing items for bid, such as a Beatles photo, a full-course Moroccan dinner, jewelry, tutoring sessions, a movie in your own backyard, or a private session with a Jewish scholar. Refreshments will be served. Kol Rina is an all-volunteer, lay-led, traditional/egalitarian Jewish community whose members assemble every Shabbat at 9:45 a.m., as well as on holidays and other occasions, to pray, to learn, and to share bonds of friendship. People of all backgrounds and ages are welcome. For more information, please visit the Kol Rina website at http://www.kolrinanj.org/, or call 1-855-6MINYAN (1-855-664-6926).
