The Israeli film Late Summer Blues (1987) will be shown with Rabbi Clifford Kulwin introducing the screening and leading the discussion afterward. High school friends head to the army, each with mixed feelings. One a pacifist, one torn between pilot training and a music unit (with his girlfriend), a third cursing the diabetes that makes him ineligible for service, and so on. Though an anti-war polemic, Late Summer Blues focuses more on the personal than the political. Free and open to the community, but registration requested.
