On Tuesday, October 7, beginning at 7:00 PM there will be a Health Forum, “Eat, Relax and Exercise Your Way to Strong Bones and a Healthy Weight,” at Temple B’nai Abraham, 300 East Northfield Road, Livingston. It is a joint program sponsored by Temple B’nai Abraham Sisterhood and Millburn-Short Hills Tziona Chapter of Hadassah. Join us and learn about take-home strategies to achieve a healthy weight; what food to eat to optimize bone health; exercises to improve bone strength, posture and balance and relaxation techniques to improve your bones, weight and overall health. The guest speakers will be Carol Michaels, MBA,ACE, ACSM and Margie Bissinger, MS. There is a $10 per person fee. Non-members are most welcome to attend. Carol Michaels is an Exercise Specialist, Consultant and Author. She is the creator of Recovery Fitness®, a safe and effective exercise program for people with osteoporosis and cancer. She has been recognized as an innovative fitness leader in promoting health and well-being. Carol’s awards include The American Council on Exercise and Life Fitness, “Trainer to Watch 2011” and Personal Fitness Professional “Trainer of the Year 2012”. She is a sought after speaker, instructor and workshop leader for wellness programs in hospitals, worksites and community settings. Carol, a graduate of the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, has appeared on television, published articles and produced exercise DVDs. Her book, Exercises for Cancer Survivors, is a resource for people undergoing surgery or cancer treatments. Carol is a Life Member of Hadassah and a prior Woman of the Year for Millburn-Short Hills Tziona chapter. Margie Bissinger is a Physical Therapist and Certified Health Coach. She is the founder and director of Healthfit Consultants, a company dedicated to promoting health through exercise, nutrition, and lifestyle. She works with clients on an individual basis as well as through group classes. Margie is the author of Osteoporosis: An Exercise Guide and the creator of Move Today, a statewide exercise program for New Jersey seniors. She is a member of the Interagency Council on Osteoporosis for the Department of Health and Senior Services of New Jersey. Margie received a BS in physical therapy from the University of Pennsylvania and a MS in Orthopedic Physical Therapy from Northwestern University. She studied nutrition and health coaching at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition in New York City. Margie is a Life Member of Hadassah.
