Local gardener Monika Hannemann brings a wealth of experience to her present role as coordinator of the award winning Maplewood Garden Club Youth Gardening Program and the MapleFood Garden, where kids and families grow organic vegetables in small spaces for local food pantries. She has worked with the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, the Horticultural Society of New York and the New York City Parks Department, among other prestigious organizations. At the March meeting of the Maplewood Garden Club Monika will discuss the challenges and benefits of gardening in small spaces, including specific well-suited plants and cultivars. Come find out how an expert does it at the Maplewood Garden Club’s next meeting, Monday, March 4, 7:30pm at the Maplewood Memorial Library, 51 Baker St., Maplewood, NJ.
