Maplewood, NJ - The Maplewood Glee Club is thrilled to announce their upcoming concert entitled "The Bright Side" on Sunday, May 7th at St. Joseph's Church in Maplewood. After two and a half years, the men's glee club is back with a repertoire of songs that exude hope and optimism. The concert will feature crowd-favorites such as "Here Comes the Sun" and "Ain't No Mountain High Enough", as well as show-stoppers like "For Good" from the Broadway hit musical Wicked.
The glee club is proud to showcase some special guests at the concert. Two honor choirs from Columbia High School will perform, adding their musical talents to the show. The John Plumer High School Scholarship winner, a yearly scholarship awarded to a high school senior pursuing music, will also take the stage.
"We are excited to have such talented performers joining us for this concert," said Josh Adler, the glee club's president. "We hope this concert will not only bring joy to our audience but also showcase the amazing talents of the young musicians in our community."
In addition to the special guests, the glee club's two small groups, the Unusual Suspects and the Doo-Wop Preservation Society, will perform their own renditions of some classic tunes.
The family-friendly concert will be held at St. Joseph's Church, located at 767 Prospect Street, Maplewood. Tickets can be purchased in advance online at https://tinyurl.com/MGCSpring23tix or at the door on the day of the show.
